Lily Perez (no, not double Las usually) enjoyed her childhood at her parent’s video store. She was always leant out to the magical window of Disney's musical movies and her little girl imagination found what would be her loved passion later: singing and performing. In our production meeting a member of our team suggested to interview her as the beginning of a new category for the interviews section “Outstanding Latinos: Young Talent”. The team member – who is designer and also plays drum with his band- mentioned that Lily’s name “sounds as practices of song… LI-LI; like I hum”. It was a production meeting full of fun enjoying her songs; our Producer commented that her voice is very distinguishing, amazing, and multifaceted, clear, soft but at the same time robust. Lily Perez can sings since folkloric songs, Latin pop, jazz, to being part of choirs and opera.

She was born in Melrose Park, IL on September 4, 1985. And although she was born in Illinois, the inheritance of her parents and root pops up on her preference; her father Fausto is from Ecuador and her mother Edith is from Guatemala. She falls in love with the Latin American sounds of the pop music, of the US romantic songs and the classical music.

The little girl that acted out musical scenes for customers at her parents' video store in Melrose Park today holds a B.A. in Music.

In rst grade, Lily Perez began singing in the church choir at St. John Vianney in Northlake, IL. She sang for that choir until she began attending Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst, IL where she sang for their church choir throughout her high school years. From 2000 to 2004 Lily took private voice lessons at Stacey De & Co. in Lombard, IL which led her to win rst place for vocal performance in the Classical Division and third place for Jazz/Pop Division at the Granquist Music Competition in 2003. She also won rst place for vocal performance in the Classical Division through the Illinois Music Association in 2004. Also in 2004, Lily began pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Elmhurst College.

Lily Perez (no, no doble L como generalmente se usa) disfrutó de su niñez en el local del videoclub de su padre. Ella siempre pasaba asomada a la ventana mágica de las películas musicales de Disney y su imaginación de niña encontró lo que después sería su pasión amada: cantar y representar. En nuestra reunión de producción un miembro de nuestro equipo sugirió entrevistarla para empezar con ella la nueva categoría para la sección de entrevistas "Latinos Sobresalientes: Talento Jóven". El miembro del equipo -quien también es percusionista en su banda- mencionó que el nombre de Lily "suena como prácticas canto… LI-LI-; como si tarareas". Fue una reunión de producción llena de diversión porque vimos su biografía y escuchamos sus canciones; nuestro productor comentó que su voz se distingue, es asombrosa y multifacética, clara, suave pero al mismo tiempo robusta. Es que Lily Perez puede cantar desde canciones folklóricas, pop latino, jazz, hasta ser parte de coros y ópera.

En primero grado, Lily Perez empezó a cantar en el coro de la iglesia en S. John Vianney en Northlake, IL. Fausto Antonio Perez was born in1957, in the small village of Cuenca, Ecuador. In 1963, he participated in his first school play "El Pollito" (The Little Chicken). In 1965, he was asked by his teacher to play an "angel' in a nativity play, which he again did in 1966. In 1969, he got to play the leading part of the "Vagabond" in another school play. In 1972, while he was attending college, he participated in "Maria" by Jorge Issac. Between 1970 and 1972 he got into music and also became fascinated with martial arts films. He would spend a great deal of his time trying to imitate his idol Jimmy Wong Yu. In 1973 he lost his father, and his life would change forever. In 1976, he came to this country, and by 1978 he married Edith, the love of his life. After graduating from Devry University in Chicago with a degree in science and electronics, he went on to work for a private company. In 1986, he opened Broadway Video with a partner in Melrose Park. In 1990, he graduated with a degree in business management and went on to become the plant manager. In 1992, he opened his second video store in Franklin Park. In 2000, he sold his share in Melrose Park and opened his third store in Villa Park.

In 2006 he started ATENAS PRODUCCIONES to fulfill a life long dream. That same year he started writing the original concept of ECUADOR LEJOS , a documentary.

Mr. Perez is currently working on his second volume of Ecuador Lejos, and he is also finishing his first book, which he hopes to eventually turn into a movie. The success of Mr. Perez is based on his hard working habits, his love for the arts, and the desire to succeed.

Mr. Perez is a family man, behind all his success is his wife of 29 years, Edith. He is also a very proud father of two. Edith is a theater major, and Lily is a music major. Both are an integral part of his team. He is still working as a plant manager, while running the day to day activities for his own businesses, and finding the time to follow his dreams.
